First Innings

Team West Indies decided to open with Brandon King and Evin Lewis. King smashed the fourth ball of the first over for a four.

He again found an opportunity in the Salman Ali Agha‘s over and secured another four. However, Salman Ali Agha managed to withdraw a catch from Rutherford, which then was successfully taken by Saim Ayub. Sherfane Rutherford scored 10 runs in 19 balls.

Chase on the other hand, with the aim of settling a better target, utilised the very first delivery of the 44th over for a four. In 45th over, he played two consecutive fours and completed his fifty in just 53 balls. This was his first half-century at home and total 6th in the ODIs.

Motie played first delivery of the 49th over for a four. He followed it up with a Six on the third delivery. This time, Naseem Shah directed a yorker which crashed into the stumps. Gudakesh Motie scored 31 runs off just 18 deliveries. Naseem Shah closed his over with a full, fast, and straight delivery which again went into the stumps, giving him two wickets on last two consecutive deliveries.

Early loss for team Pakistan

Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique opened the innings from team Pakistan. West Indies were after an early wicket which they got in the third over.Team Pakistan lost their first wicket , Saim Ayub, when he got edged on a terrific delivery from Jayden Seales. Saim Ayub went to the Pavilion after scoring 5 runs on 12 balls. This early loss put team Pakistan under-pressure.

Babar Azam’s Entry
